NATURAL REARING
Over the years, we have witnessed significant improvements in health, muscle tone, bone formation, and temperament from feeding a natural, raw food diet to our dogs. It helps keep their weight balanced, their teeth clean, improves their digestion (dogs weren't meant to eat kibble), and they produce less fecal matter due to a higher nutritional value.
At Sugar Spun, we feed our dogs a species-appropriate diet of raw meat, raw
bones, and raw organ meat.
We strongly recommend this diet for any dog you adopt from us.
Alternate Diet
We understand there are reasons a raw food diet may not work for everyone.
If you are unable to feed raw, we recommend feeding grain-free All Life Stage Dog Food.
Vitamins
Vaccinations
With the exception of rabies which is required by law, we do not vaccinate our dogs and use
Nosodes instead. Nosodes, biological preparations used in homeopathic medicine to prevent disease, are given orally, are completely safe, easy to administer, and can be given to puppies much earlier than vaccines.
Pregnant females are often treated with Nosodes prior to giving birth, providing
immunity to their litters before they are born.
Rabies are given once and then
Titers Draw Vaccine, a method used to determine immunity and protection against core vaccine agents.
We work hard to protect all of our animals and provide the healthiest environment possible for them. We never use toxins to treat for illness or for the prevention of problems associated with fleas and ticks. Instead, we use homeopathic remedies such as herbs and essential oils.
While we believe natural rearing is best, we encourage veterinary advice and conventional medial interventions when appropriate. You will develop such a strong bond with your dog that you will know what is right.
